My (weird) Music Tastes
Like with most people, I enjoy listening to music. However, I am also autistic and transgender, meaning my music tastes are exceptionally weird.
Generally, with some exceptions, my music taste falls into one of the following categories:
With that being said, here are some of my favorite albums from each genre!
Indie Pop
torr - molecule
Molecule was the album that introduced me to not only hyperpop, but indie music in general. Every song in the album is catchy on its own, but they also all seamlessly flow into each other in such a way that this album is best experienced start-to-finish.
torr - crash bogus
Crash Bogus is Torr's newest album as of writing this, and was my most anticipated music release of 2025. It has a very different vibe from Molecule, which took awhile for me to get used to, but I really enjoy now. Two of my favorite songs, Stagekiss and Gum, both come from this album (well, Gum was a single first, but same difference lmao). Anyways, I highly recommend checking this one out!
Jamie Paige - Constant Companions (Deluxe Edition)
This album has some of the best vocaloid music out there. I discovered Jamie Paige through BIRDBRAIN (my favorite song from the album), and also enjoyed many of their other songs as well. When I discovered that BIRDBRAIN was a part of this album, I knew this would be one of my favorite albums of 2025.
DNB
Deathbrain - fantasy noises & perfect delusions
This isn't an album most people would consider "relaxing", but I do! I personally use it as background noise whenever I'm doing something that requires my concentration. The chill vibes combined with the DNB backdrop means this album is perfect for calming my ADHD-riddled brain.
Insane Autism Transgender Noise
femtanyl - REACTOR
Femtanyl's music is certainly an aquired taste, but once you start listening you can never stop! Like her previous album, CHASER, REACTOR is composed of 5 of her singles repackaged as a single release. REACTOR, however, has a lot more of a unique identity, as its clear she's hit her stride since CHASER, and that's why this is my favorite of the two.
Machine Girl - MG Ultra
Machine Girl is most famous for their Digital Hardcore stuff, and while that is still clearly a big part of this album, it also leans in a hyperpop direction that I really love. This album is loud, screamy, and perfect for Ultrakilling to.
